JT Richardson - Northwestern Shooting Sports Complex Project
The Richardson’s would like to take a moment of your time to share with you the tragic loss of our loved one Jayden Thomas “JT” Richardson. Although this loss has devastated each of us every day since the accident, it has also inspired us to keep Jayden in our everyday lives. It truly helps with the healing just to hear people speak his name in conversation and to see good things coming together in honor of him. Our family motto for Jayden is “Never Forgotten”. Jayden was your typical country boy who enjoyed hunting and fishing along with anything to do with the great outdoors. He was raised to be polite and respectful. Jayden was always the first there to lend a hand anytime someone was in need. He was set to graduate less than 2 months before the accident from Northwestern High School in Mendon, Missouri. School was dismissed early that year due to the Covid Pandemic and the Seniors were set to formally graduate in July. Once school was dismissed Jayden wasted no time and began chasing his dreams. He started working for a local dog trainer with goals and dreams of becoming a successful dog trainer himself. Jayden was at work doing what he loved on May, 26th 2020 and in a tragic accident drowned in a pond while training a dog endurance swimming. Jayden was also a member of the Northwestern High School Trap Team and since the accident our family, along with many others have been working to keep Jayden’s name and legacy alive. Our vision and goals are to build and maintain a successful, state of the art shooting complex for present and future students of Northwestern School District to come practice as well as everyone in the community to use and enjoy. Northwestern and other surrounding school districts do not currently have a shooting complex for their trap teams to practice or host shooting events. With this shooting complex Northwestern will be able to host shooting events, train youth in gun safety and give the youth of our community somewhere to enjoy spending time all the while staying o the streets and out of trouble. This shooting complex will be named in Jayden’s honor to keep his legacy and our family motto “Never Forgotten” going for many years to come. Our dreams and goals have already been set in motion. With the help of so many in our small community we have already secured the land and begun construction on the shooting complex. With the money and land already so graciously donated we have been able to set up a nonprofit organization, set up a committee of 8 board members Randy Richardson (Jayden’s father), Eric Hoyt (Jayden’s High School Principal), Sabrina Brown, Jesse & Valerie Gladbach, Dan Daugherity, Justin Diehl & Dennis Speichinger (Close friends of the family) and begin construction. To date we have purchased 2 state of the art Pat Trap throwers, completed pouring 2 solid concrete trap houses, completed pouring the concrete for both trap house shooting lane stations and are currently looking to purchase an enclosed carport to conduct business out of until we have enough money raised to build a 30’x60’ metal Morton style building equipped with a kitchen, public restrooms and a dining area. If anyone would like to help contribute to this great cause, please get in touch with any of the board members. We are also set up with the Chariton County Community Foundation to allow for your donations to be 501c3 tax deductible. “Like” us on our Facebook page “JT Richardson’s Northwestern Community Shooting Complex” to follow us as we turn our goals and visions into reality...
